In Which iBattle Some Pink Robots
Today was my first foray into listening to my iPod while walking. I'm not sure that it won't be my last.
So I was walking along to campus thinking really ridiculous thoughts like, "Wow, groovy, it's like I am floating through my own dimension of space and time (I was listening to The Flaming Lips, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots)."
And, "I am an island."
And, "It's like I am the only one on the earth."
And, "Wait! Why aren't I seeing any other people?!"
And I totally freaked out for about 30 seconds until finally a maintenance truck rolled on by and I knew that using my iPod while walking hadn't started a chain reaction that had unravelled the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroyed everyone in the universe but me.
Whew!
But I don't know if I'm willing to chance it again.

I love that song. Everytime we are in a place that serves sushi and I see "sashimi" on the menu, it starts going through my head. Yoshimi, they don't believe me...but you won't let those robot defeat me....

And you, my dear, have stated the exact reason why I am not getting an iPod.
Well, sort of. I'm so distracted sometimes when walking that getting an iPod could only make it worse, which would NOT be a good thing.

i love love love that song and i've loved it since i saw the flaming lips open for the chili peppers. btw i keep forgetting to thank you in person for the winter mix. it's awesome!

The only thing I know I will miss with the iPod is being able to listen to other people's conversations. Altho now perhaps I can do it even more surreptitiously! I'll just turn down the volume and they can chat away, thinking I'm listening to the iPod!

Ah.. carrots & ears in reference to the whole altering the space/time continuum and the repercussions of this.
I'm a BMW guy @ heart.. once you drive one you can't go back. Kinda like Wesley Snipes and the whole roulette cliche. But that said, if it did the time-travel thing, I'd be in a Delorean for sure.. If it did the time travel thing... :)
