I Left My Heart (and a Lot of Someone Else's Vomit) in San Francisco

This weekend I went up to SF for my sister Penny's 21st. Things I will tell you about this weekend:

1. I love my family. I really do. More than words can say.

2. There was some kind of hazardous spill and it took me 7 hours to get to SF.

3. I had to bribe the cab driver $15 not to kick us out of the cab. I will not tell you who or what kind of VOMIT-ous behavior inspired this threat, but there you go.

4. You may THINK you have the best future sister-in-law, but does your future sister-in-law hold back your hair when you (not me, I was relatively sober) puke? Does she worry that she gone too bridezilla because she has INVITED YOU to her bachelorette party?

5. All lawyers are not assholes. Apparently law school is only a temporary phenomenon -- I came back early and sooo tired from the weekend to attend a Superbowl party composed mostly of attorneys who were all cool! Yay for me and my chosen profession! And also for 60" Sony flatscreen HDTVs.

6. I am still watching The Bachelor. I can't help myself. It's like that paste you knew you shouldn't eat in kindergarten or that bad boy you knew you shouldn't date, oh, like a few years ago. That Susan* totally looks at the camera more than she does at Travis! All she's worrying about is getting cut so she doesn't get enough air time. On the other hand, at least he has the sense to know that a 22-year-old who lives with her parents is not the best fit for him at 30-something.

*Also, Susan, I hope you don't think I have some kind of weird pent-up hatred for all Susans because of this, especially because I only thought later about the Mystery! Edward Gorey pics I posted recently that had a Susan perishing in fits, but that was the only pic that fit my story, pinky swear!

I gave up on The Bachelor after the first two epiosdes.

Glad to hear that you had a good, yet vomit-filled, weekend in SF.

I'm still watching the Bachelor too. I have been accidently calling Jehan 'Jihad' for weeks. And Susan the 'smitten kitten' totally sucks.

P.S. I love your blog!

I am so glad to hear that not all lawyers are assholes. Because I have spent the past few days reading lawschooldiscussion.org, and I can tell you that most of the people on it ARE.

Also, we watched the Bachelor last week and already can't stop.

Hee! I was going to tell you that if I could find a print of just the "S is for Susan" section of the Gorey alphabet, I would absolutely hang it prominently in my apartment - I love it!

Plus, I know that not all Susans are created equal, some of us are just way cooler than others. Same for the Jennifers out there, right? :)

Cool attorneys? I don't believe this phenomenon. Although I like you. Hrm.

Never date people post-college who still live with their parents. Even Fake Boyfriend finally moved out to some swanky loft. Lofts. Heehee.

Love the Bachelor, love Project Runway. It's so sad that we can't live in the same town and watch these shamelessly together...

Dagny-- You are missing out on all the Moanna action.

G -- Thanks!

Penny--
You, too, sis!

Marty--
Ack! The smitten kitten! I forgot about that -- man, how much more fake could you get? And does she seem to have some weird kind of accent or stage voice or is it just me? I swear, when they were in the park she was totally making sure she knew where the cameras were.

Gwen-- It's true. There are a few good eggs.

Susan--
Phew! I'm glad you don't think I am voodooing you or something.

Carolyn-- Yes, yes she did!

Gloria--
FB has a much better chance with the ladies now that he has moved out, methinks. Even if it's to a loft.

Urs-- I know! Maybe one day.

I noticed her camera-glancing behavior, too! What is up with that chick?!

I'm glad you had a good time, even though the drive totally blowed. I'm very much looking forward to the bachelorette party, though I hope it won't involve traversing through toxic spills.
