Night of the Living Dead

A little tip:

Do NOT, just because Sarah Jessica Parker wore it in some Sex & The City episode, try white eyeliner. That is, unless you have the assistance of a professional make-up artist.

BECAUSE you might, you JUST MIGHT, end up with what I affectionately term Zombie Eyes. See above.

And then you may try to remove said white eye goop, but removing white eyeliner might be like searching for meaning for a Pauly Shore movie. And you might give up and then try some sparkly silver to cover up, but it has clumped to your eyelashes and YOU ARE CHER. And not the Cher from Clueless, who I quote entirely too often for my own good (hence the Pauly Shore reference and also, earlier today I told Laurie I was going to try to read one non-school book a week, and that my first one would be Fit or Fat. Because you know, we need to do something good for our minds as well as our bodies).

No, the other kind of Cher. As if!

Your eyebrow looks really good in that picture, by the way.

I think the white liner was more for the bottom lid, now that I think about it. A very subtle hint, to bring out the whites of your eyes. (Although, to be fair, I don't remember the SATC episode where Carrie wears white eyeliner, but I hated everything about Carrie except for her apartment, so I probably didn't pay attention.)

Unrelated, but I think you should post more baby pictures.

And speaking of books, I just read this fabulous young adult fiction novel about an east coast prep school girl who moves out to LA. I think it's what "Mean Girls" was based on, and I'm not ashamed to say that I totally enjoyed it.

Yeah Gloria's right about the eyeliner - I saw a thing in Glamour lastt summer, you know, those pages where they try to teach grow, women how to wear makeup - where they said just a bit on the inside lower lid brings out your eyes. Just a little, remember Jen.

Gloria, what's the name of the book? I am shamelessly addicted to YA lit.

Also, Jen, I quote Clueless all the time. And whenever I drive by the fountain at Wilshire and Santa Monica, I have to declare that, duh, I love Josh!

I was watching Tyra Banks last week and she said that white eyeliner is her beauty secret. You apply it inside your eye and then line around it with black. She said black eyeliner alone makes your eyes look smaller; the combo is supposed to make your eyes pop.

And I am not ashamed to admit that I own Clueless. I am with Gwen though. Need to know the name of the book, Gloria.

It is called "The A-List", by Zoey Dean. For some reason, I'd it written down in my palm pilot on my books to read list, so I finally got it at the library. While a cursory search shows no real links between the book and "Mean Girls", they are startingly similar in plot.

I talked to Scarlett, and she agrees that white eyeliner goes more on the inner part of the eyelid than on the outer part. I don't think you're supposed to really see it distinctly, unless you're making some fashion statement.

I think SJP had a fair amount on her top lids, and it looked a little different, but not like, zombie-ish, like mine did.
But I am going to try all your recommendations and see what works and report back!

I really like the picture, actually. Maybe the effect is more pronounced if seen on both eyes, but I don't see anything inherently wrong here. I could see a problem if the outfit accentuates the effect.

But what is this talk about wearing things INSIDE of the eyelid?! I think I now know too much about what goes on behind the closed bathroom door.

Maybe it's just me - but I can't spot the problem with the picture.

Might look weird if it was a full headshot, but the closeup on the eye actually looks quite good.. (not that i'm saying you have a weird head).

I would join in on the eyeliner discussion, but on the sink or swim scale, i know which i'd be.

So, alternatively, I thought i'd throw in a little theme discussion.. here, dagny's, gloria's + many more... too pink to pass off as a website related to work. Dont change tho (like you would), it makes me feel all naughty. And pink is obviously just so my colour.
