As Ready As I'll Ever Be
My 2L year starts tomorrow, and I'm as prepared as I reasonably (ha! reasonably! ha! stoooopid lawyer joke. ack.) can be.
For one thing, I've got some kick-ass school supplies.
And of course, what would any Sunday Undies girl be without a brand new supply of days-of-the-week underpants? Awww, yeah.
Also, new frames.
p.s. Why do I look so scary? And freckly? When did this happen? AND, most importantly, qu'est ce que vous pensez? Too librarian? Saturday night at Beechwood, these crazy men told my friend Amber and I that we were working the school teacher/librarian look. And I wasn't even wearing glasses! For the rest of the night I (a) wondered what the hell that meant, and (b) had Marian the Librarian stuck in my head. Oh well, better (?) than Hot for Teacher.
And don't worry -- I also did my reading. And am even a bit ahead. This will be the only time this semester I am, of course, but yay!

Yeah, but how many librarians do you think really wear days of the week underpants?

Yay for new school supplies! I love buying new school supplies. I have a kickass new school bag (metallic bronze and super shiny) that's so big that I could fit like 10 little white puppies into it and they would all have to stand on each other to see out. Teehee. That's how I measure my bags, by the numbers of puppies I could potentially fit into it.

Yay for school supplies! I miss buying them. I think school supplies are part of my Law/Grad School Envy. Also, I still think it's funny that we got the same bag.
The new glasses are awesome, too! You look very prepared for a year of future-lawyering.

The librarian look is always the way to go. Then again it sometimes attracts freaks.
Oooo ... and new school supplies. Makes me wish I still had a classroom.

Hmmm as for 2L year I think you are missing a vital school supply - all Emmanual's books that cover any topic you are taking! I'm telling ya! Emmanuals! I just fishished the law school thing in CO and you need the Emmanuals! So much less work that way - like cliff notes in high school. Well, you need Emmanual's and mace. Mace for the crazy law school twekers when they come up to you - you can spray then when they try to pry your for gpa/class rank info!!!

Love the glasses. Sexy librarian is always good--embrace it! Where's your Trapper Keeper?

Awesome glasses, kid. Awesome. And the site? Awesome. It's so... pink!

I'm getting a librarian vibe, yea, but it's a good thing when a guy tells you that!

Great school supplies, I would enjoy going back to school, just to have all the cute new supplies, at least for the first week or so.

Glasses!!! I consider them a fashion accessory! Of course, it's nice to be able to see more than 6 inches in front of your face. I think your new specs are spectacular, Jen! Wear them proudly.
FYI - The L.A. Eyeworks frames sale is in November this year. The savings are incredible. You can get $250 frames for $40-$50!!! Watch the L.A. Weekly for their ad. You can never have too many pairs of faboo glasses!

um dude. i just realized YOU ARE IN SCHOOL TODAY. why does school start this early? that sucks ass. i'll have to put that in the "CON" column "early end to summer".

I showed your blog to a coworker today. The first thing she said? "Cool glasses."

Ah...the first day of school. How's the week going? The only thing that I can see as potentially "too librarian" is the ungodly size of some of the casebooks that you have to lug around.
Wow, you guys do start early. But hey, it's not like you have to do work right now. This is law school - if you can't learn it in the three weeks before finals, it's not worth learning.

While this post is going to sound entirely too stalker-like, I had a dream last night that you were in.
You were getting married a week and a half after getting engaged (to someone who appears in your blog). I was attending a business meeting at the place where your reception was & just decided to stay and crash your reception. I got to meet CAP in real life (though her name, inexplicably, was Dani) & she drove me home after I somehow got totally loaded on one cocktail. There were some other people I met there who were bloggers as well & we all took a photo together.
Hmmm, not sure what all of that means. (Perhaps that I need to get a job so I can get out of the house and stop living vicariously through other people's lives.)
You had a really fabulous wedding dress & we all commented on how you found it on such short notice.

Les nouveaux verres sont extra sexy, IMHO, mais je suis succeptible au le regard de le beau bibliothécaire. Holy crap my French is dreadful.
Posted by: Logan the Great at August 28, 2005 09:28 AM
agreed, his french sucks. glasses you drink out of = verres. glasses on your face = lunettes.
